Rachel
Receptionist
Rachel has been welcoming clients at Mountain View Veterinary Hospital since April 2015. As a receptionist, she plays a key role in keeping the hospital running smoothly by scheduling appointments, answering client questions, and helping ensure patients are seen as efficiently as possible. Rachel’s organization and friendly demeanor help support both our medical team and the families we serve.
Outside of work, Rachel enjoys reading, drawing, playing video games, gardening, and listening to music. At home, she is owned by her yellow Lab mix, Charlotte, and her cats, Minerva and Spaghetti.
Mia
Receptionist/Assistant
Mia is originally from El Paso, Texas, where she attended the University of Texas before moving to Washington. She joined Mountain View Veterinary Hospital in 2023 and works as both a veterinary assistant and receptionist. Mia’s interest in veterinary medicine began at a young age—often pretending to be a doctor while caring for her family pets. Her favorite part of the job is building strong relationships with clients and their pets, and she truly values the close-knit, positive team environment at Mountain View.
When she’s not at work, Mia enjoys reading, hiking, going to the gym, shopping with friends, and staying active through sports like golfing, bowling, softball, and baseball. She is also a proud New York Yankees fan. At home, she is owned by her two dogs, Letty and Bently.
Suzanne
Receptionist
Suzanne is a local to Olympia, Washington and joined Mountain View Veterinary Hospital as a receptionist in January of 2023. With a lifelong love of cats and dogs, Suzanne chose a career in pet care so she could help both people and their pets. She enjoys working at Mountain View because of the welcoming, supportive atmosphere, often describing it as “being part of a big family.” Suzanne plans to remain with Mountain View all the way through retirement.
Outside of work, Suzanne enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, and camping. She also loves crocheting and diamond painting. At home, she is happily owned by her four dogs: Amp, Bella, Tank, and Roxy.
Our Veterinarian Assistants
Sammi
Head Assistant / Receptionist
Sammi is our Head Assistant and plays an essential role in training new assistants and keeping the team organized. She also works part-time as a receptionist, where she enjoys connecting with clients and hearing how our team has made a difference in their pets’ lives. Raised in Olympia, Sammi spent over a decade in the food service industry before following her lifelong passion for animals and entering veterinary medicine. She loves the variety of her role and hopes to one day attend school to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
When she’s not at work, Sammi enjoys spending time with her kids, watching movies, playing board games with friends, reading, attending concerts, and growing her rock and mineral collection. She thrives in Mountain View’s fun and supportive environment—and at home, she is proudly owned by her three cats: Peridot, Cookie Dough, and Nutmeg.
Nathan
Veterinary Assistant
Nathan has lived in the Lacey area since childhood and grew up surrounded by a wide variety of pets, including fish, hamsters, birds, and dogs. Before joining Mountain View Veterinary Hospital in 2020, Nathan successfully ran a pet-sitting business for friends and family. Becoming a veterinary assistant felt like a natural next step, allowing him to combine his experience with his love for animal care. He enjoys helping doctors and technicians during appointments and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable during their visits.
When he’s not at work, Nathan enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, traveling, or relaxing at home. He is owned by his Vizsla, Arrow, along with two cats: Oh Grr, a former feral kitten rescued by Mountain View staff, and Cali, a calico who joined the family in 2024.
Sophie
Veterinary Assistant
Sophie was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona and currently lives in Washington. She graduated from Washington Virtual Academy and earned her Associate’s degree in Biology from Centralia College. Sophie joined Mountain View Veterinary Hospital as an assistant in 2023, driven by her love for animals and her strong interest in anatomy, physiology, and medicine. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is helping pet owners care for their animals, and she especially enjoys assisting with surgery preparation and anesthesia alongside the technicians. Sophie’s long-term goal is to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
Outside of work, Sophie enjoys learning about zoology and exploring the history of film, music, and comic books. She loves watching movies with her family, particularly horror films, nature documentaries, and classic comedies. At home, she is collectively owned by a lively group of animals including dogs, rats, horses, goats, alpacas, chickens, and a duck named Bandit.
Jacob

Jacob joined Mountain View Veterinary Hospital in February of 2024, initially working after school before transitioning to a full-time veterinary assistant after graduating in June 2024. Born in Las Vegas and raised primarily in Bellingham, Jacob enjoys veterinary medicine for the joy of seeing pets every day and knowing he plays a role in keeping them healthy. He especially values the sense of community at Mountain View and appreciates working with a team that enjoys having fun while caring deeply for patients.
When he’s not at work, Jacob enjoys playing baseball, making music, going on adventures with friends, and attending car meets. At home, he is thoroughly owned by three cats—Boots, Bento, and Batman—along with his dog, Bently.
Ali
Veterinary Assistant
Ali grew up in Ferndale, Washington and moved to Olympia in 2024, shortly before joining Mountain View Veterinary Hospital as a veterinary assistant. Growing up surrounded by pets and spending time on her grandparents’ dairy farm, Ali developed a strong passion for caring for animals and advocating for their health when they cannot do so themselves. She enjoys working at Mountain View because of the supportive, family-like atmosphere and hopes to one day attend a veterinary school to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
In her free time, Ali enjoys being outdoors and appreciating the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. At home, she is happily owned by her cat, Calypso.
Cody
Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist

With a lifelong interest in caring for animals of all kinds, Cody knew veterinary medicine was the right career path for him. His favorite part of working at Mountain View is the compassion the team shows for every patient—it’s more than just a job.
Outside of work, Cody enjoys gaming and going on outdoor adventures.
